It’s been seven years, but we can now say that more Americans are pro-choice than “pro-life” to a statistically significant degree.
Here’s the latest Gallup poll:
50% to 44%.
The trend in the 21st century has been leaning left on this issue. But who is becoming more pro-choice?
Democrats, not surprisingly are becoming more pro-choice (Republicans are about the same as they were in 2001, and Independents are slightly more “pro-life”)
As people age, they tend to become more “pro-choice” (young people are always highly pro-choice, but they haven’t increased that much over the years)
And women have become more pro-choice as this century goes forward, whereas men are about the same.
