School teachers carrying firearms and readied for gun battles in grade school classrooms is a level of social pathology that signals the end of any viable, coherent society. Travel such a path, and the barbarism and fearmongering of the American abattoir can only accelerate.

Trump is clearly just throwing this our there. Even if 20% of the teachers are trained, who pays for the training AND the guns AND the “bonus” salary? We’re talking about hundreds of thousands of teachers where, in most states, there is little enough money for schoolbooks.  Is the White House going to impose it on the states?  Has anyone run the numbers?

Also: "You can't hire enough security guards… Your need 100, 150 security guards.”
